Chris Gardner presented a report on the College’s energy efficiency and climate responsive infrastructure improvements and plans, including the new BC Energy Step Code and LEED Gold 88 Royal Avenue campus . We also heard about the STARS (Sustainability Tracking Assessment & Rating System) certification process that the College is going through to create a benchmark for achieving UN Sustainable Development Goals. Nathalie Vigoroux-Callibot, Earth and Environmental Science instructor, spoke about her science-based approach to climate and environmental solutions, and the need to help students see beyond superficial and sensational media reporting.
