Andrea Gretchev is a registered nurse who specializes in pediatrics. She is a faculty instructor in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program within the Department of Health Science at Douglas College. She recently completed a seven-year term as the program's Curriculum Coordinator. Andrea holds a Master of Nursing from the University of Victoria and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from McGill University. She is currently a Ph.D. student in the Healthcare Genetics and Genomics program at Clemson University. Andrea also serves as a Research Associate at Athabasca University and collaborates with faculty from Memorial University, the University of Calgary, the University of Alberta, the University of Victoria, and Georgian College. Her research centers on driving healthcare systems transformation to facilitate the integration of genomics-informed nursing, emphasizing policy infrastructure, education, and leadership. Her dissertation investigates the influence of maternal nutrition on DNA methylation and developmental programming. Andrea is committed to advancing research that seeks to enhance population health outcomes through the equitable and timely integration of genomics technologies.
